Omega 3 for dry eye is the best nutritional support for dry eye and entire body.

We are all plagued with dry eye symptoms sooner or later in life. Dry eye affects millions of Americans every year. Do we have to live with the dry eye symptoms? Many of these symptoms of dry eye are eyes that constantly burn, tear, feel sandy and gritty, fluctuation in vision, chronic pain, recurrent infections and much more. Much of the dry eye symptoms are associated with chronic inflammation in our eyes and entire body. The typical American diet is Pro inflammatory and the typical American is overweight both contribute to dry eye. Adjusting your diet to an anti-inflammatory diet like the Paleo Diet, Mediterranean Diet or Lange Survival Diet will help to reduce the pro inflammatory markers in your body and these types of diets may help with weight loss too. Dr Michael Lange of The Lange Eye Institute developed the Lange Survival Diet to help his patients with a multitude of eye disorders nutritionally. If people will follow this type of diet combined with some exercise, proper hydration, and a good night’s sleep they will see some amazing positive changes in the health of their eyes and entire body. Simple adjusting the diet and weight loss will help decrease dry eye symptoms. Here is a link to the Lange Survival Diet https://www.drmichaellange.com/blog/the-lange-survival-diet/

However, many will not follow the diet as meticulously as they should and therefore won’t make the positive impact they want as quickly. Is there any supplement or nutrient that can help dry eyes? YES! Omega 3 fatty acids have been studied for years and years with 1000s of studies proving the positive health benefits of omega 3. Here is a link to a great website on health benefits of omega 3 :http://www.healthbenefitsofomega3.com

The form of omega 3 fish oil is crucial to maximize your health benefits of omega 3 for the eyes and entire body. The best form of omega 3 is rTG form omega 3. This has a triglyceride backbone on the omega 3 that allows for rapid absorption with no negative burp back. Most OTC omega 3 fish oils are an ethyl ester (EE) form that has ethanol attached to the backbone. This is a very inexpensive and inefficient way to make omega 3 fish oil. The human body must cleave off the ethanol backbone and replace it with a triglyceride backbone (rTG omega 3) and this process takes place in the liver. If you purchase an omega 3 supplement that is already in the Triglyceride Form (TG form or rTG form) you will get better results with less omega 3. The rTG form omega 3 fish oil is 3-4 times more bio available than the EE form omega 3 and is a much more stable molecule so it won’t go rancid as quickly as the ethyl ester omega 3 oils will. Dr Michael Lange and Fortifeye Vitamins developed their first rTG omega 3 in 2005 called Fortifeye Super Omega and then based on ongoing research came out with a more potent rTG form omega 3 called Fortifeye Super Omega 3 Max in 2019. Fortifeye Super omega has 1600 mg of TG or rTG form omega 3 in 2 gel caps and Fortifeye Super Omega 3 Max has 2400 mg of rTG Omega 3 in just 2 gel caps. Fortifeye Super Omega 3 Max is one of the most potent and purest Norwegian made TG form Omega 3 fish oils in the world today. Optometrists and Ophthalmologists worldwide recommend Fortifeye Super Omega and Fortifeye Super Omega 3 Max to their patients with dry eye and chronic inflammation in their bodies. Fortifeye Super Omega 3 and Super Omega 3 Max are 2 of the most cost effective rTG form omega 3 supplements on the market today. Most competitor omega 3 supplements require 3-6 gel caps to be equivalent to just 2 of the Fortifeye Omega 3 supplements. Dr Michael Lange has a syndicated radio show called “ask the dr” for 30 years discussing the latest in nutritional anti-aging with his listeners and viewers. On his show he always recommends people to look at labels and look at the total amount of EPA and DHA on the omega 3 label and to see whether it says TG form, rTG form or triglyceride form omega 3 on the label. He also recommends buying only omega 3 fish oil made in Norway since these are the world leading experts in omega 3 production. omega 3 for dry eye, rTG omega 3, tg form omega 3, dry eye nutrition, omega for dry eye, health benefits of omega 3,

Simply by adding a good rTG omega 3 to your diet daily will decrease the ratio of pro inflammatory omega 6 in your body and lower inflammation. Many studies have proven the addition of omega 3 to your diet will decrease dry eye signs and symptoms. Eye doctors all over the globe recommend omega 3 for dry eyes. The rTG form omega 3 in the right levels is also a good natural way to lower lipids, triglycerides, inflammatory markers and reduce pain associated with inflammation. Omega 3 helps reduce the inflammatory pathway of PGE2 (series 2 prostaglandins) and helps to enhance the anti-inflammatory effects of PGE3 (series 3 prostaglandins). Simple by eating enough good marine sources of omega 3 will also benefit the dry eye population however realistically most people will not consume enough of the right type fish weekly to get these positive health benefits of omega 3. The simplest natural approach to dry eye relief is adding a good rTG omega 3 like Fortifeye Super Omega or Fortifeye Super Omega 3 Max to your diet daily. rTG form omega 3

Dry eye experts around the globe agree the addition of a good omega 3 fish oil supplement to the diet in the right levels will help reduce dry eye signs and symptoms. More and more doctors are recommending omega 3 for dry eye today. Some patients that have moderate to marked dry eye may also benefit from the addition of astaxanthin and GLA from Black Cuurant oil to their dry eye supplement regiment. Numerous studies have proven the benefits of these nutrients to the dry eye population. A good rTG form omega 3 along with 6 mg of astaxanthin and 140 mg of GLA seems to be one of the best combinations of nutritional supplements for dry eyes. The GLA actually promotes the anti-inflammatory benefits of PGE1 (series one prostaglandins) and works well with the omega 3 acting on both PGE2 and PGE3. The combination of omega 3 for dry eye and GLA for dry eye works synergistically together to help reduce inflammation in the eye and entire body helping to alleviate dry eye signs and symptoms. Astaxanthin has also been studied for the relief of dry eye. Multiple studies indicate the addition of 6 mg of astaxanthin will help in the reduction of dry eye signs and symptoms and also hep to improve focusing ability in the eye reducing eye fatigue. Astaxanthin lowers oxidative stress and inflammation in the eye by reducing the inflammatory effects of many of the enzymatic pathways responsible for inflammation. Fortifeye Vitamins has taken the benefits of these 3 nutrients Omega 3, astaxanthin and GLA and combined them into one formula called Fortifeye Advanced Dry Eye Therapy. If you are looking for the best supplement for dry eyes that is backed by years and years of research and is being used by the top dry eye centers, you have found it! learn more about Fortifeye Advanced Dry Eye Therapy here https://fortifeye.com/product/new-improved-advanced-dry-eye-therapy/

New Zealand Grass Fed Whey Protein Concentrate from A2 cows boost immune system.

Dr Michael Lange and Fortifeye Vitamins has developed a new grass-fed whey protein concentrate from New Zealand A2 cows called Fortifeye Super Protein.  This protein will be available in the middle of December and will come in 2 flavors: chocolate and vanilla.  Dr. Lange used about 10% more organic flavoring along with organic sunflower lecithin to make both have a delicious creamy  taste.  These A2 cows have not gone thru any genetic mutations altering the casein protein the way A1 cows have. Very few grass-fed whey proteins come from A2 cows.  These cows are free range and feed on pesticide free grass all year-long. This whey protein concentrate will have a higher ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 than a grain fed  protein. The CLA  ( good fat) will also be higher in a grass-fed whey protein concentrate over a grain fed  protein.   This whey protein has not been denatured with high heat or acid maintaining the correct form of cysteine a very important amino acid responsible for glutathione production.  Glutathione  is the  “master antioxidant” responsible for  fighting against  oxidative stress in our bodies.  A non denatured or undenatured whey protein concentrate from grass-fed cows is also a great way to get additional lactoferrin a very important  anti aging multifunctional protein that improves the immune system.  Lactoferrrin  has been found to be low in people with dry eye syndrome.  Drinking a non denatured whey protein concentrate from grass-fed New Zealand A2 cows may be a good idea for all people suffering with dry eyes.  Dr Michael Lange of The Lange Eye Institute has many patients with dry eye that have claimed to  have reduced dry eye symptoms after consuming  a non denatured whey protein concentrate.  So along with the traditional dry eye approach  doctors may want to add whey protein to the diet of their patients suffering with dry eyes.  Dr. Lange will start a small clinical study using Fortifeye Super Protein with specific dry eye patients to determine if there is some merit to this hypothesis. Learn more about the science behind this new whey protein concentrate :  www.newzealandwheyproteinconcentrate.com

If you are wanting to supplement your diet with the most biologically active form of protein and stimulate your immune system with a great tasting whey protein concentrate then consider Fortifeye Super Protein.  This protein will be available thru health care providers that carry Fortifeye Vitamins  and  at https://www.fortifeye.com/products/fortifeye-super-protein-chocolate-available-end-of-november-2015-we-are-taking-pre-orders/

Blue light form the computer, tablet and smart phone may be harming you and your children

Dr Michael Lange urges everyone to block the blue light form the daily digital world we live in. Using lenses like Blue Light Defense and Ophthalmic Blue Guard  will filter the harmful blue rays.

The HEV light or Blue light emitted from the computer, tablet, smart phone, television and indoor lighting may be causing harm to your children and yourself!  The blue light wave length between 400-420 nm ,science now states is the most harmful to the eyes and entire body. Ophthalmic Blue  guard  and Blue Light Defense are  lenses that Dr Michael Lange from Lange Eye Care  has been using for eight months with tremendous success!  This lens is the biggest thing to hit the ophthalmic industry states Dr Lange.  The blue light not only increases risk of cataracts and macular degeneration at a much younger age but it signals the pineal gland in the brain to stop secreting melatonin!  When melatonin levels go down sleep becomes impaired and cortisol and inflammation goes up in the body. also new studies indicate when melatonin levels drop certain cancers go up in the body. Ophthalmic Blue Guard and Blue Light Defense  are  true anti aging lenses and all lenses in the near future should have this type of protection .  read more and order  here : http://www.fortifeye.com/category/ophthalmic-blue-guard-lenses/    Embedded image permalink     look over this video as Dr Lange demonstrates how Blue Guard Lenses work :

Michael Lange OD discusses Natural Treatment for Dry Eyes and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction

Michael Lange OD discusses Natural Treatment for Dry Eyes and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction

Michael Lange OD, CNS out in front of The lange Eye Institute in The Villages Florida, home to many nutritional studies.

Michael Lange OD, CNS out in front of The lange Eye Institute in The Villages Florida, home to many nutritional studies.

Michael Lange OD, CNS founder of Lange Eye care and Associates a ten office based eye care practice in Florida.  Dr. Michael Lange has built one of the largest privately owned Nutritional eye care centers in the country called The Lange Eye institute. This is a large practice embracing the most advanced technology in medical, surgical, nutritional and optical eye care .  Michael Lange OD has been involved in research and development of nutritional supplements for eye care for the last 20 years. Dr. Lange is constantly re developing supplements to help macular degeneration and dry eyes. He is using the very latest in intracellular blood testing ( spectracell), omega index blood testing and DNA testing to further enhance the nutritional approaches to eye diseases and total body wellness.  Lange Eye Care and Dr. Lange have patients that come from all over the globe to learn about natural options to helping their eyes. One area Dr. Lange  has had considerable success in is the Natural treatment of dry eyes and meibomian gland dysfunction.

1. Blepharitis a main causes of dry eye  and Meibomian gland dysfunction is a build up of microbial flora on the eye lashes and inside the Meibomian glands. This condition causes the  lids to become quite inflamed ,red and crusty .  Proper lid hygiene is crucial as the first step of natural dry eye relief.  Dr. Lange recommends scrubbing the lids and lid margins with a commercial preparation like occusoft lid scrub foam. This scrubbing will eliminate much of the bacterial flora on the lashes that can block the Meibomian glands that secrete the  outer layer of the tear film.  This  lid scrub with occusoft will help to reduce the staph bacterial flora  and open the blocked meibomian glands.  If  a patient continues to have a chronic  red  eye with inflamed lid margins then it could be a form of blepharitis related to a parasite called Demodex.  Demodex is a small parasite that crawls into the hair follicle at night and lays eggs. The demodex may cause lids to become red, inflamed, crusty , and itch ( demodex blepharitis). It is important to wipe the lashes and lid margins with a special pre medicated pad called cliradex right before bed. Cliradex has the demodex killing properties derived from tea tree oil and is extremely effective for the treatment of demodex related blepharitis and secondary dry eyes. Scrub lashes first with occusoft, rinse then rub the Cliradex onto lashes and lids before bed and do not rinse. This combination of lid hygiene will help to eliminate the microbial flora ( staph and demodex) that is blocking the Meibomian glands and causing the dry eyes. Proper lid hygiene is one of the most important steps in natural treatment of dry eye.

2. Nutrition for dry eyes is the most important step in natural dry eye treatment. The majority of Americans are deficient in omega 3 with an Omega index score around 4 . Omega index is the ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 in blood. Omega index should be over 8 to gain the therapeutic health benefits. Take a good triglyceride form omega 3 fish oil with a minimum of 1500 mg of omega 3

The correct dosage of omega 3 will reduce inflammation in the Meibomian glands and improve the tear production. Most patients after taking the correct form omega 3 supplement in the right dosage will have a dramatic improvement in the tear production from the Meibomian glands. Fortifeye Super Omega gives the ratio of DHA and EPA that has been working in large dry eye clinics through out the world. Omega index studies indicate that two per day dosing of Fortifeye Super Omega will bring the omega index to an average between 9.1 and 11 in patients under 240 lbs. The goal is to bring the omega index to a minimum of 8. People over 240 lbs may need to double the concentration of omega 3 to get the same results. Most patients with dry eyes and meibomian gland dysfunction will improve by starting the correct dosage and form of omega 3 fish oil. However some moderate to marked dry eye symptoms may need some additional nutritional help. I recommend adding the most potent antioxidant /anti inflammatory nutrient on the planet called astaxanthin at 6mg.

Fortifeye Focus improves dry tired eye symptoms. Works well with Fortifeye Super omega.

Astaxanthin for dry eye is rapidly gaining a strong foothold in the natural medicine realm. Astaxanthin is a super carotenoid derived from algae. Astaxanthin when added to omega 3 fish oil will enhance the anti inflammatory effects. Astaxanthin will also help to reduce dry tired eye symptoms. Astaxanthin has many other amazing health benefits. I recommend using an organically grown algae called astareal. The combination of triglyceride form omega 3 and 6 mg of astaxanthin will help combat against oxidation and inflammation in the eye and entire body. This combination will also improve circulation to the eye and may indirectly help other eye problems like glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. One final nutrient that can be added for the more extreme dry eye is GLA from Black currant seed oil. I like a ratio of close to 10 to 1 GLA to omega 3. 140-160 mg of GLA in addition to 1400-1600 mg of omega 3 fish oil is ideal. The exact combination can be obtained by taking two Fortifeye super omega along with 140mg- 160 mg of GLA. GLA has some additional anti inflammatory properties that stimulate series one prostaglandins and aids in healthy tear production. The triple whammy of dry eye nutrition is TG form omega 3, Astaxanthin and GLA. GLA for dry eye when used in combination with omega 3 and astaxanthin works very well. This combination is also great for skin and joint health

3. Meibomian glands often times need a jump-start to help them secrete a healthier tear film. Heating and massaging the lid margins is crucial to unclog the meibomian glands so the glands can secrete the crucial outer layer of tear film. This needs to be done for 10-15 minutes 2 times a day. The use of a warm wash cloth is an inexpensive way to do this but I have found that the Brueder Mask is the best way to continuously do this treatment. This is a mask that u put in microwave for 20 seconds and then Velcro around your face for 10-15 minutes two times a day. While the mask is on the eyes gently massage the lid margins to help un clog the blocked glands. This mask will also help cut inflammation around and under the eyes. The Brueder eye hydrating mask can last up to two to three years without being replaced. This mask is only $25 and makes the hot compresses a very simple and relaxing task.

4. Artificial tears are important to use frequently in initial phases of natural dry eye treatment. Using a good unpreserved artificial tear that has some hyaluranic acid for relief of dry eyes is my first choice. I recommend either Oasis tears plus or Blink to minimize dry eye symptomatology and both have hyaluronic acid in them . Hyaluaronic acid has some anti inflammatory effects and makes these two lubricating eye drops my first choice for dry eyes. For the extreme dry eyes and Meibomian gland dysfunction patients I like adding a special lubricating eye drop called Retain MGD. Retain MGD helps to replenish the outer lipid layer of tear film that may be deficient in Meibomian gland dysfunction patients. This combination helps to replenish all layers of the tear film. Combining oasis tears plus with Retain MGD with about ten minutes in between drops will help extreme dry eyes.

Michael Lange OD states if the four steps above are followed carefully most people with dry eye and meibomian gland problems will improve. Many people will notice improvements in as little as five days but it will take up to four months to gain the full potential for dry eyes. These steps will in many cases eliminate the need to have more expensive dry eye procedures like Meibomian gland probing, lipiflow dry eye treatment or IPL laser dry eye treatment performed. Dry eye kits including everything mentioned above are available at a discounted price at http://www.fortifeye.com.
